(BEDFORD) - Becky’s Place is looking for volunteers for a work day Saturday that will begin at 9 a.m.
Volunteers are needed to clean, paint and move furniture. Becky's Place Executive Director Cami Pritchett said the building is almost ready to open.
"I am arranging for groups of volunteers to come in and work, but we could always use additional help," she said. "Please contact me if you are available to help so that we can coordinate our efforts."
Pritchett's phone number is (812) 369-2264.
Becky's Place, 1108 Fifth St. in Bedford, is a homeless shelter for women and children. Catholic Charities will provide administrative and operational support for the shelter.
Women will stay at the shelter 90 days (extensions are allowed). They must be drug and alcohol free and agree to case management. If employed, they will save 75 percent of their income.
Becky's Place will partner with other agencies to offer needed services to women to help get them back on their feet.
