(BEDFORD) - A 9-year-old Bedford boy was arrested Wednesday morning after he became upset and assaulted a teacher at Lincoln Elementary School.
Bedford Police Officers were called to the school at 9 a.m.
"No officer wants to arrest a 9-year-old," says Bedford Police Department Assistant Chief Joe DeWees. "The boy, who has emotional and behavior problems was cussing and yelling and being unruly."
DeWees says no one injured during the incident.
The boy was charged with juvenile delinquency and battery.
"He was released to his mother," DeWees added. "With the arrest, he will be evaluated by the probation department and then sent to other professionals for evaluation and they can determine and enroll him in a treatment program."
