(BEDFORD) - They arrived in different sizes and hues, all aspiring to see their names on neon-lit marquees and to walk the Yellow Brick Road.
Penny May, director of the upcoming production of "Wizard of Oz" at Little Theatre of Bedford, welcomed to the stage seven local canines craving to play the role of Toto.
This was no beauty contest. May was looking for a pup with personality, plus and the ability to follow simple commands. And to May's delight, they all were able to do just that.
May says she expected to cast the part within the next day or two. She also left open the possibility of more than one Toto.
