(BEDFORD) - Bethany Morris has accepted a job with Becky’s Place as shift manager.
Becky's Place is a new shelter in Bedford for women and children in need of emergency assistance and housing.
The shelter is in its final stages of preparation and will open soon, and there are ways volunteers can help and support the ministry.
A fundraiser for Becky's Place will be held at the St Vincent Parish Life Center on Saturday, Feb. 11th at 6:30pm. The event will include dinner and music by the Nostalgia Big Band. Tickets are $25 each for individuals or $200 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce or by contacting Cami Pritchett (director of Becky's Place) at 812-369-2264. You may also contact Bethany at 812-675-2392 for info or tickets.
There will be a Becky's Place Work Day, Saturday, February 4th from 9am until 3pm. Volunteers are needed and welcomed to help put the finishing touches on the shelter facility. Also, over the next few weeks, there is a need for daily volunteers to help sort clothing and donations and finish cleaning/preparing the building for women and children. Bethany will begin coordinating volunteers this Monday following the work day, so if anyone is interested in helping, contact Bethany at (812)675-2392 as soon as possible.
Officials thank the community for all the support and prayers, as they get Becky's Place ready for residents. They also ask people to consider how they might help this new ministry.
