(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police are investigating a report that a 34-year-old Bloomington man was stabbed in the leg several times during a fight about money.
Police are saying the stabbing and argument were likely related to drugs.
Monroe Hospital officials contacted police at 1:30 a.m. Thursday reporting they were treating a man with multiple stab wounds in his right leg.
The man told police he was arguing with a friend over money, when he was stabbed, but he told police he couldn't remember where the incident happened. Police later learned the stabbing happened on a sidewalk in downtown Bloomington.
Police have not determined what the man was stabbed with or recovered the weapon.
The did talk to the man's cousin, who told police he witnessed the fight and drove the injured man to the hospital.
The injured man was treated and released from the hospital.
