(BEDFORD) - Caty Young is the new youth educator for the Lawrence County Purdue Extension Service.
Young, from Cincinnati, Ohio, served as a Peace Core agriculture volunteer in the Republic of Panama for 27 months and then went back in Feb. 2011 to train other agriculture volunteers before taking her position here in Lawrence County.
She says she is excited to be in Bedford, working with youth.
Currently she is helping youth on 4-H registration. Those interested in joining can register online on the county website until April 15. Young is also visiting all the local 4-H groups and gearing up for the Lawrence County 4-H fair which will kick off on July 7th and run to July 14th.
Young is also gearing up to work with youth in the county schools this fall.
