(BLOOMINGTON) - A Chicago man was arrested by Bloomington Police officers after a traffic stop.
Bloomington Police Lt. Scott Oldham says he stopped a vehicle at 11:11 p.m. Friday near West Third Street because the driver was speeding.
When Oldham approached the Pontiac Grand Prix he smelled the strong odor of burning marijuana.
After searching the car the officer found less than 30 grams of marijuana. Walter Wells was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.
Later at the police station, Wells was questioned by detectives and then charged with three counts of dealing cocaine.
Bloomington police have been investigating Wells since November. Wells allegedly had sold small amounts of cocaine to undercover police on three different occasions.
