(BLOOMINGTON) - Employees of the McDonald’s on South Walnut Street called Bloomington Police just after midnight Thursday when an intoxicated woman pulled up to the drive-thru window to order.
48-year-old Lana Roberts had gone inside the restaurant by the time police arrived.
Roberts complied with police when initially arrested for public intoxication, however her alcohol content was too high for her to be taken to the Monroe County Jail so they took her to IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
That is when things turned sour. When police arrived at the hospital with Roberts and were taking her out of the police cruiser, she began kicking police and attempted to bite one officer.
She was medically cleared by hospital staff and police took her to jail. She faces charges of public intoxication, resisting law enforcement and battery.
