(ENGLISH) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that happened around 6 p.m. on Overhead Bridge Road near the town of Taswell.
According to Conservation officers, a 68-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were both thrown from an ATV when it veered from the roadway for some unknown reason.
Both suffered multiple injuries, including lacerations and head trauma. Both were flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. Neither rider was wearing a helmet or any safety equipment during the incident.
All ATVs operated on the roadways in Indiana must be registered through the Department of Natural Resources. A valid operator's license is also required to operate on all county roadway. Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage riders to always wear a helmet and necessary safety equipment when operating an ATV.
