(LINTON) - A warrant has been issued for Brian Callihan, of Linton, after he attempted to open a checking account at MainSource Bank in Linton with a $400 stolen check.
The bank held on to the check and told Callihan they would have to wait on the check to clear before they could open the account.
The stolen check belonged to Karen Marsh. An employee at the bank told police that Marsh was a former employee at the bank and that the signature on the check was not Marsh's.
Callihan told police he received the check from Josh Marsh, Karen's son and he knew the check was probably stolen. But he said Josh owed him money and Callihan hoped the check would clear.
Josh Marsh was arrested last month on charges of theft, after he stole at check written to his mother and attempted to cash it.
