(UNDATED) - The number of methamphetamine labs in Indiana jumped to an all time high in 2011.
According to numbers released by the Indiana State Police 1,437 meth labs were uncovered compared to 1,395 meth labs discovered in 2010.
Vanderburgh County had the highest number of meth labs at 72 with Elkart second with 71. Monroe was sixth with 54, Lawrence County had 22, Brown 3, Greene 23, Daviess 21, Orange and Martin had 7, Washington 3. Ohio County had no meth labs.
ISP officials say the one-pot method of meth-making has grown to be the most popular method of making the drug.
It involves mixing the ingredients in a 2-liter plastic bottle or jar and it can often end in an explosion or fire.
