(FAYETTEVILLE) - A Mitchell man was injured after the vehicle he was driving went airborne and flipped on its top.
According to Lawrence County Police 44-year-old Shawn Vincz was traveling west on Ind. 450 when a deer ran into the path of the 2003 Jeep Liberty he was driving.
He went left of the center line, off the roadway and over an embankment and went airborne traveling 78 feet.
The vehicle then hit another embankment and went airborne again for another 64 feet landed and flipped end over end landing on its top.
Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department freed Vincz from the vehicle. He was taken to I.U. Health Bedford Hospital with cuts to his head, abrasions and possible broken shoulder.
