(MITCHELL) - Lawrence County police found no drugs at the Mitchell High School and the Junior High School when they did a search of school lockers Thursday afternoon.
At the request of Mitchell school administrators police dogs searched the lockers at Mitchell Junior and Senior High School.
According to Lawrence County Police, the search began at 1:45 p.m. after the high school lunch period. At the high school, police searched student, physical education and athletic lockers and at the Junior High School police searched eighth-grade lockers.
Dogs hit on three lockers at the junior high and 16 at the high school, but there were no illegal drugs found in the lockers, according to Mitchell Schools Superintendent Steve Phillips.
