(BEDFORD) - Otis Park is considered to be a community jewel but has been a budgetary burden for many years.
The park generated a profit of $22,339 in 2011, according to Mike Mitchell, superintendent of Bedford's parks system.
Mitchell and Mayor Shawna Girgis were determined to get the park back into the black. They say that it has taken them four years to accomplish the task.
Cash reserves are now being saved to be used for future capital projects.
