(PAOLI) - Orange County Chambers Executives met last week in Paoli to finalize plans for the upcoming 2012 Orange County Third House sessions with area lawmakers.
The sessions are rotated every year to one of the four communities. This time the event will be hosted by the Paoli Chamber and is set for Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Paoli Town Hall. Sen. Richard Young and State Reps. Matt Ubelhor and Steve Davisson have all agreed to participate.
The group's chairman Robert F. Henderson gave a brief background on the workings of the group for the new chamber representatives present. The executives group meets several times a year to exchange information, share ideas and work on joint type projects. In the past the group has sponsored the first ever Orange County Chamber Map, Annual Chamber Membership & Buyers Guide, Orange Co. Discount Card, Third House, and the annual Leadership Banquet.
Henderson also shared information received from the Indiana State Chamber and the Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA).
A brief discussion was also concerning the need to explore and develop other joint type chamber efforts or activities to further support and promote the Orange County Business Community as a whole. Teresa Richardson of the FL/WB Chamber discussed the possibility of the three chambers helping to sponsor a series of Roundtable type discussions in the upcoming months with Orange County business owners to discuss a variety of topics.
The date was set for the 2012 Leadership Banquet was set for September 18 with the featured speaker to be announced at a later date.
