(GLENDALE FWA) - On Saturday night Indiana Conservation officers found a truck parked in an unauthorized area of the Glendale Fish and Wildlife area.
Officers found 30-year-old Dennis Sipes II and 26-year-old Jamie Gibbs, both of Washington, with a 17-year-old girl. The three were found with copper materials that had been stored on the property.
Police arrested Sipes and Gibbs on charges of theft. Gibbs was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle in an unauthorized area. The juvenile was released to her father.
The case has been turned in to the Daviess County Prosecutor's Office for review.
Officers say the theft of scrap metal has become an increasing problem across the state. Anyone seeing suspicious activity is encouraged to contact law enforcement agencies.
