(GREENE COUNTY) -Travis Stoelting, a 2004 Bloomfield Junior-Senior High School graduate, is the new assistant manager of Goose Pond FWA.
The 26-year-old Purdue University graduate, who earned his degree in Wildlife Science, says he's pleased to be back home.
Stoelting worked on a variety of projects sites before accepting the his new job. After graduation he worked for Purdue University's Forestry Research Department at Morgan-Monroe State Forest and Yellowood Lake DNR properties.
He interned at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge and then worked two years with the Indiana Wildlife Federation.
At Goose Pond he will assist property manager Brad Feaster. He will also conduct bird and wildlife counts and give tours of the property.
Stoelting is hopeful that as the word gets out more about what Goose Pond FWA has to offer, the number of visitors will continue to increase.
