(VALLONIA) - A Vallonia couple and their two children were left homeless after a fire destroyed their one-story wood frame home Wednesday morning.
Freedom Stidham and Tyler Jones and their children will be staying with family and friends. Both were at work when the fire started at their home on south 460 west, just south of Indiana 235.
Their 16-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son were at school.
A neighbor reported the fire at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, and firefighters didn't leave the scene until 2:23 p.m.
Driftwood Township Volunteer Fire Department firefighter Mark Bonebright says there was a lot of smoke and the fire was shooting through the roof. High winds did not help fight the fire.
Driftwood Chief Pat Garland says the cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.
