(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington’s strong neighborhood associations consistently play a large role in making the community one of the best places to live.
It is time to celebrate Bloomington's most recent accomplishments and innovative ideas. The Blooming Neighborhood Awards recognize these efforts and reward the organized neighborhood groups.
Neighborhood associations located in Bloomington are welcome and encouraged to apply. There are three award categories: Mayor's Excellence Award, City Council Neighborhood Enhancement Award and the HAND Team of the Year Award. Presentation of the awards will be at the Celebration of Neighborhoods, Farmers' Market on Saturday, June 2, at 10 a.m. Award winners will receive a $100 check made payable to their respective neighborhood association.
The Celebration of Neighborhoods is for all Bloomington residents, whether or not your neighborhood is participating in the Blooming Neighborhood Awards. Neighborhoods can sign up for a table to display their neighborhood information and enjoy the camaraderie of sharing and meeting other individuals at the Farmers' Market from 9 a.m. to noon.
Blooming Neighborhood Award applications are due in the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department by Monday, April 16.
