(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington doctor has pleaded guilty to federal charges of unlawful drug distribution and health care fraud.
According to The Herald-Times, Dr. Kamal Tiwari pleaded guilty to two counts as part of an agreement with prosecutors late Friday in U.S. District court in Indianapolis.
A grand jury indicted the 60-year old Tiwari last year on 13 counts alleging that he prescribed narcotics when not medically necessary and defrauded insurers by performing unnecessary procedures.
