(LAWRENCE HOLLOW) - 28-year-old Caleb Cassidy, of Bloomfield, is facing drug and battery charges after an alleged altercation on March 16th.
Nick Schneider of the Greene County Daily World reports a probable cause affidavit filed with Greene Circuit Court by Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Bobby Pierce, went to a physical altercation on McCutchen Lane.
Cassidy is alleged to have grabbed a 15-year-old boy by the T-shirt and drug him across the ground.
The assaulted boy's mother told a sheriff's department dispatcher that Cassidy had just left his residence in a white truck with a red-colored bed.
Deputy Pierce observed Cassidy's truck and made a traffic stop near Arthur's Auto Sales just off of State Road 45.
In the probable cause affidavit, Cassidy told police he was standing outside his residence smoking a cigarette when he heard what he thought was a woman screaming coming from the residence of his landlord, Bob Meriman. He then went to see what was wrong.
According to Cassidy, he was walking down the driveway and observed "two male kids" running up the driveway.
Cassidy told police that he grabbed a hold of both boys by placing his hand at the center of their backs and asked them what was going on.
A short time later Cassidy says he got a call from the boy's mother asking why he had drug the boy through the yard. Cassidy says that never happened.
When police questioned Cassidy and searched his truck they found a burnt marijuana cigarette in a tennis shoe, a plastic bag of marijuana in a Pringle's potato chip can and several pills, Alprazolam, rolled-up in a t-shirt. Cassidy would not tell police where he got the drugs.
