(LAWRENCE HOLLOW) - A Bloomfield man was arrested after police say he shot his neighbor. (GC Daily World)
Police arrested 20-year-old Kelby Roberts. He was booked into the Greene County Jail on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $5,000.
Rroberts allegedly shot Joe Hollars. Hollars suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach and was rushed into surgery at IU health Bloomington Hospital. Police say Hollars was shot with a large caliber rifle. No condition report was available this morning.
According to Chief Deputy Major Mike Hasler, the details on why the shooting took place are sketchy. He says it appears to be a dispute between two neighbors.
The shooting took place at Joe Hollars' trailer at1724 Lawrence Hollow Road in Lawrence Hollow Subdivision, off State Road 45. Police received a 911 call at 12:54 p.m. reporting shots were being fired into the mobile home. While dispatchers were on the phone, more shots could be heard. Police say the shots were fired from a distance away from the home. Officers recovered a rifle and gun casing as the scene.
Hesler says the case is still under investigation and officers are trying to piece together what happened. He did say more charges could be pending.
