(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police are looking for a man, armed with a handgun, who entered the Walgreen store on 16th Street and robbed the pharmacy last night.
According to a press release from Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, the department received a 911 call at 7:07 p.m. saying a man had jumped the pharmacy counter, displayed a handgun and demanded medications.
Parsley says the man did take an undetermined amount of medication.
"At this time we don't know for sure what he took," he added. "We are conducting an inventory to determine exactly what was taken."
Police are looking for a man who is 5'10'' to 6 feet tall, who was wearing a dark baseball cap, a tan hoodie, khaki shorts and dark boots and glasses.
Police say the man ran out of the store and then north. Police and K-9 units searched the area but were unable to locate the man.
Police received a second 911 call at 10:09 p.m. reporting a man wearing dark clothes ran though their back yard in the 1200 block of 14th Street and then jumped a concrete fence.
Then at 10:18 p.m. police searched a garage in the 1200 block of 14th, finding no one.
