(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police arrested the man who robbed the Walgreens pharmacy of drugs.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley said 38-year-old Joel Corey, 1411 Beech St., was arrested on a warrant charging him with armed robbery, a Class B felony. He was taken to the Lawrence County Jail at 5:20 p.m. and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
Parsley said tips from the community, who saw surveillance photos of the man, pointed police in Corey's direction.
According to Parsley just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, Corey walked into Walgreens. He went back to the pharmacy, jumped behind the pharmacy counter, showed a handgun and made off with an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs, Parsley said.
