(WASHINGTON) - Firefighters in Washington spent most of the afternoon at a fatal house fire.
It happened at a home on 7th Street, between Walnut and Van Trees Streets.
Several others were also reported to have been injured in the fire.
The home was split up into at least seven apartments. One person died in the fire.
A firefighter says another woman on the second floor had to jump out of the window to escape. She had severe burns and was airlifted to Indianapolis.
Another victim was taken to Daviess Community Hospital for smoke inhalation.
Crews were first called out about 12:30 this afternoon. Firefighter are still on the scene.
