(DUBOIS) - Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is warning area residents of a phone scam to residents in the area.
A local resident says that they received a call from a person identified as a Medicare employee who is updating information for the government.
The person says that unless direct billing information is updated, Medicare will be suspended. They are asking for information, which includes social security number and bank account numbers.
Sheriff's Department officials remind citizens to never give out personal information over the phone for any reason.
