(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police arrested three people at a westside hotel after finding meth, marijuana and prescription painkillers in their bags and hotel room.
Officers were at the Scottish Inn, 126 S. Franklin Road, to serve a warrant just before midnight Friday and ended up arresting a man and two women on drug charges, said Bloomington police Sgt. Scott Myers.
35-year-old Claude D. Swartz of Bedford remained in the Monroe County Jail Sunday on $2,000 bond.
34-year-old Tomi D. Hignite of Bedford and 30-year-old Anna Johnson of North Vernon were released over the weekend, according to jail officers.
All three face charges of possessing methamphetamine, after officers found a white powdery substance in all their belongings, Myers said.
The two women involved each face two additional charges of possession of a controlled substance, after police say they also found a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and an array of prescription pills including Soma, Lortab and lorazapam.
Johnson faces a fourth charge of possessing two hypodermic needles, after police reported finding them in her belongings, and maintaining a common nuisance, because she rented the room.
It is unclear from the report what type of warrant police had originally planned to serve.
