(BLOOMFIELD) - Roger Axe, Director of Greene County Emergency Management Agency says the deadly tornadoes that struck in Missouri, Illinois, and southern Indiana two weeks ago are ample reason for Greene County to conduct an annual tornado spotters course.
The course will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20th in the conference room in at the Greene County Fairgrounds between Bloomfield and Switz City.
Tornadoes struck last year ín Joplin, Missouri as Well as Lawrence and Monroe Counties in
Indiana.
Damages can still be seen from last year's tornadoes in Indiana. It seems the fury of tornadoes is on the rise all across the nation and Indiana has not been spared, and this is just the beginning of the tornado season.
Awareness and preparedness are keys to safety. Volunteers monitoring the sky and reporting will help.
The course is free and Open to the public." Axe said.
