(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington and Monroe County police are investigating a report that a 15-year-old boy may be soliciting inappropriate pictures from his female classmates.
A social worker at a Bloomington school was contacted by a father, who said his middle-school aged daughter may have taken photographs of herself and sent them to a 15-year-old boy, according to Bloomington police Sgt. Lucas Tate. Police also received a report through a child protection hotline in early April.
Bloomington police are investigating the case with Monroe County detectives.
The first girl they interviewed provided police with names of several other girls, who may have been contacted by this boy with requests for inappropriate pictures through Facebook and text messages.
Seven girls have been interviewed by police so far, Tate said, and not all reported having been solicited by the teenage boy.
The case is still under investigation. Police have yet to determine if inappropriate pictures have actually been sent, Tate said.
