(SHELBYVILLE) - A recent study by a Shelbyville pediatrician is producing some startling numbers about childhood obesity.
Dr. Paula Gustafson says by age five in her practice, nearly 40 percent of patients are obese which is causing health hazards like heart disease and asthma.
As part of a plan to reduce childhood obesity, Gustafson recommends parents eliminate the ever popular "sippy cups" filed with juice and empty calories and have children eat at the table instead of lounging around.
