(FAYETTEVILLE) - 21-year-old William Neighbors, of Bedford, was injured after he attempted to pass another vehicle on Ind. 450 West and collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Larry Able, of Bedford, Wednesday afternoon.
According to Lawrence County Police, Neighbors suffered internal injuries and lacerations to his head and arm. Abel complained of chest pain.
Police say Neighbors was traveling west on Ind. 450 West in a 1999 Oldsmobile and was attempting to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone. Neighbors' car collided with Abel's 1998 General Motors Sierra head-on.
Neighbor was cited for passing in a no passing zone, driving while his license was suspended and driving left of center. Able was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
