(LOOGOOTEE) - Only time will tell, but maybe Loogootee School Corporation will turn around its current run of eight straight years of declining enrollment.
Laura Mattingly, Loogootee Elementary School principal, told the school board 69 students were registered during the Kindergarten Roundup April 5. She said this was the highest registration number since 2007.
The declining enrollment hurts the school corporation financially, as part of the funding formula used by state officials for public education includes enrollment.
