(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police Lt. Bill Parker says police are investigating a possible theft from the office of the Herald-Times.
An officer spotted a man in a maroon pickup truck just after midnight Monday behind National Water Works on Liberty Drive. When the officer approached, the man tried to hide.
The officer noticed the man had several pallets in the back of his truck and asked about them. The man told the officer he had pulled over because the wind nearly blew the pallets out of the truck.
The officer asked the man if the pallets were stolen. Parkers says The man first denied stealing the pallets, but after more questioning eventually admitted he'd stolen the pallets from the Herald-Times office.
Parker says The officer didn't arrest the man, however the case is still under investigation and an arrest could be pending.
