(ORLEAN) - Orleans Superintendent Jim Terrell will retire effective December 31.
He will be replaced by Gary McClintic, the Orleans Junior-Senior High School principal.
School Board President Barry Bishop says, McClintic, in his ninth year as Orleans principal, was a natural choice for Terrell's a successor.
McClintic was named the Indiana Association of School Principals' District 12 Middle School Principal of the Year in October.
Terrell, a Lawrence County resident, had been superintendent of the North Lawrence Community Schools. He retired from that post in December 2003 and ended up in Orleans. Terrell and his wife plan to spend their retirement enjoying their grandchildren.
