(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police Department Assistant Chief Joe DeWees says several cars - including a city police car and a county police cruiser - were spray-painted with black lettering during the overnight hours of Tuesday.
DeWees says the calls started coming into the department at daylight and were isolated to the 1200 block of U Street and in the 1900 and 2000 block of 12th Street.
Police do have a suspect and are following up on leads, according to DeWee.
In addition to the private and police-owned vehicles, street signs and buildings were spray-painted.
