(UNDATED) - Local police departments continue to investigate church burglaries in Lawrence, Jackson and Washington counties.
Life Mission Ministries, in Heltonville, was broke into Friday, Guthrie Creek Church and Fairview Church on Old U.S. 50 were broke into on Sunday.
Police say musical instruments, computer equipment and sound system equipment were taken from Driftwood Christian Church in Vallonia.
Liberty Christian Church, south of Norman Station in Clearsprings and Houston Christian church were also hit.
Lawrence County Sam Craig say thieves are forcing their way into the churches by breaking doors.
The departments are working together to see if the break-ins are related.
Last Monday afternoon Calvary Baptist Church on Siebolt Quarry Road in Springville was broken into.
Deacon Richard Ramsey called police after he noticed the north side door of the church was open.
"The thieves broke into the office area and into the safe," Chief Deputy Mike Branham says. "Several items were taken from the church."
The second break-in was reported early last Tuesday morning at the Guthrie Christian Church.
There thieves busted in the back door.
"Caretakers for the church reported the break-in but currently it looks like nothing was taken," Branham says. "The only damage was done to the back door."
