Police Investigate Theft Of Dozens Of Stolen Street Signs

Last updated on Wednesday, April 18, 2012

(MEDORA) - In Medora, police are investigating the theft of nearly three dozen street signs early Sunday morning.

Town Marshal Steve Ingle said the thefts occurred sometime between 1:15 a.m. and 3 a.m. Sunday.

Police have been able to pinpoint the time because county police were in the area around 1 a.m. looking for a vehicle involved in smashing several mailboxes in the Vallonia area, Ingle said.

At 3:04 a.m., a female called county dispatch reporting three boys were walking around town taking street signs.

Ingle said police have no suspects in the thefts in Medora, which involved 22 street signs, four Children Playing signs, four Stop signs and two or three bridge abutment signs.

Anyone with information about those thefts may call Medora Police Department at 966-8484.
