(BLOOMFIELD) - The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) announced that Bloomfield School District is being awarded an Excellence in Performance Award grant of $76,231.
State Rep. Matt Ubelhor (R-Bloomfield) extends his congratulations to the teachers and schools in his district that were honored on Thursday.
"I am extremely proud of the teachers and administrators of Bloomfield School District," said Rep. Ubelhor. "What a wonderful honor it is for them to receive a grant for how well they've touched the lives of our students."
The 2011 state budget established the Excellence in Performance Awards for Teachers grant program. The grant appropriated $6 million to be allocated to school corporations and charter schools to make cash awards to teachers rated as effective or highly effective through a performance evaluation system that meets IDOE and state law requirements.
More information can be found on IDOE's website at www.doe.in.gov then follow 'Hot Topics,' 'Educator Effectiveness' and 'Compensation.'
"The Department of Education has done a wonderful job with the Excellence in Performance Award program, and I look forward to seeing more educators benefit from it in the future," said Rep. Ubelhor.
