(SALEM) - WLKY-TV news anchor Rick Van Hoose has been named Grand Marshall of the upcoming Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 at Salem Speedway reports track management.
Van Hoose, who was born in Salem, has been a fixture on Louisville television for many years. The University of Kentucky graduate, who began his career as a sportscaster, was named the 2000 Media Person of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities for his "Rick's Hometown Heroes" segments.
"We're certainly happy to have Rick involved with the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200," said track general manager Richard Deaton. "He and his family have attended races at Salem Speedway for many years."
The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200, the 91st ARCA Racing Series event to be held at Salem Speedway, is set for Saturday and Sunday, April 28th and 29th. Practice and qualifications will take place on Saturday with the Ford-Drive One 50 for the Lucas Oil Great American Stocks and the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 rolling off on Sunday.
