(SEYMOUR) - Three Kentucky residents were arrested after a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 65 that ended with a crash at Uniontown.
Indiana State Police Trooper Jared Black says the chase started after troopers attempted to stop a vehicle that was speeding just north of Seymour.
As officers were approaching the vehicle it took off. The troopers returned to their car and gave pursuit at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
The Toyota Scion left the interstate at the Uniontown exit and hit a fence. The car then went west on Ind. 250 before damage from the wreck caused the vehicle to stop on U.S. 31 just north of Ind. 250.
Police arrested 39-year-old Ernest Christopher, 28-year-old Sheena Gladson, both of Winchester and 33-year-old Anthony Watts, of Richmond. All three were taken to the Jackson county jail on charges of possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance. Christopher, who was the driver was also charged with resisting law enforcement.
All three were being held on $1,005 bonds.
Other troopers and officers with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department were involved in the pursuit and arrests.
