(PATOKA RESERVOIR) - Indiana Conservation Officers investigate a hunting accident at Patoka Reservoir.
According to Conservation Officer Mike Kellner, 62-year-old Anthony Pavlench, of Valparaiso and 53-year-old Christopher Hanna, of Chesterton, were turkey hunting together early this morning and were about 30 years apart when Hanna's 12-gauge shotgun discharged and hit Pavlench in the right leg.
Hanna told officers he is not sure why his gun discharged.
Pavlench, assisted by Hanna, was able to walk to their vehicle and was taken Celestine to meet an ambulance. Pavlench was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
The accident is still under investigation.
Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted by the Dubois County Sheriff's Office and the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department.
