(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured in two separate accidents on Friday.
The first accident happened at 7:12 a.m. on Indian Springs Road, near Ind. 450.
Carl McCarty, 21, of Shoals was traveling east on Indian Springs Road when for an unknown reason he applied his brakes on a hilltop, putting his 2001 Chevrolet S10 into a skid. The truck then went off the roadway and hit a tree.
According to police reports McCarty could not tell police what happened because of his injuries. McCarty suffered a possible dislocated or fractured hip.
The second accident happened at 9:27 a.m. on Old Sawmill Road near Ind. 58 East.
According to Lawrence County Police reports Otha Smith Jr., 83, of Bedford, was traveling west on Old Sawmill Road when his 2009 Ford Ranger began to slip and he tried to correct it. The truck went off the roadway and hit a tree.
Smith suffered minor bleeding to his lower arm.
