(BEDFORD) - The March of Dimes March for Babies is returning to Bedford on Saturday. It will take place at Parkview Field with “turn-in” beginning at 10 a.m. and the walk scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
The March of Dimes Wabash Valley Division reports it has been two years since a March for Babies has taken place in the city. A March of Dimes news release reports that, because of "an increased interest for the event to occur in the area," March of Dimes will be host to this Saturday's event "as a trial run for future walks."
The March of Dimes reports premature birth is the leading cause of infant death, and for those who survive, it can mean a life of chronic health problems or disability. Today, in Indiana alone, 33 babies will be born too soon.
