(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police Detectives are investigating the theft of a 4-wheeler in the 2300 block of G Street.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says the department received a 911call at 5:34 a.m. Thursday from a motorist reporting they saw someone in a Jeep Cherokee loading a white 4-wheeler in the vehicle.
The Jeep was parked in the alley between 18th and 19 and H streets. When police arrived the vehicle was gone
"Police searched the area and couldn't fine the vehicle or the 4-wheeler," Parsley says. "We had no idea where the 4-wheeler was taken from at that time."
Then at 1:48 p.m. the owner of the 4-wheeler, who lives in the 2300 block of G Street, called the department reporting it missing.
"The owner says he left his residence around 3:30 a.m. and the 4-wheeler was still chained to his deck," Parsley says. "Officers did recover a pair of bolt cutters and a hoodie at the scene."
The case is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call police.
