(CAMPBELLSBURG) - The Junior Miss and Miss Country Girl Pageant will kick off the festivities starting Thursday, May 31 at 6 p.m. at the C’burg Christian Church Youth Center.
Admission is $2 and no charge for children 10 and under. The fee helps fund the pageant and other festival activities.
Starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 1, is the town wide yard sale. A map of participating locations will be available at the community building. That afternoon lunch will be served to senior citizens starting at noon at the community center. All seniors are encouraged to join. Call 755-4368 to make your reservation for lunch. A small donation of $3 is is requested to cover expenses.
Don't miss the black light puppet show presented by the Black Light Puppeteers Friday evening. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m., show begins at 6 p.m. at the C'burg Christian Youth and Fellowship Center.
Following the puppet show, talent show begins at 7 p.m. Friday night at the shelter house.
Make sure to wake up bright and early for Habitat for Humanity 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, June 2 at 8 a.m. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. in front of the C'burg Christian Church Youth and Fellowship Center. Cost is $15 if pre-registered and $20 during day of race and comes with a T-shirt. All speeds and abilities are welcome. For more information or to register call John Calhoun, 755-4212.
Town wide yard sale continues beginning at 9 a.m.
The Tri-County Antique Farm Machinery Association of Mitchell returns for it's 18th year. The antique tractor show will start on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and continue on Sunday. Kiddie Tractor Pull will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The All American Country Hoedown Baby Contest is set for Saturday with registration beginning at 1 p.m., judging begins at 2 p.m. There are five categories: 0-3 months, 4-6 months, 7-12 months, 13-18 months and 19-24 months. Judging is based on personality. Entry fee is $5. For more information call Karen Qualkinbush, 883-4556.
Cowboy and Cowgirl Contest are sure to make you chuckle. Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. at the community building.
The Doo-Wop All-Stars from Louisville will perform Saturday at 8 p.m. at the C'burg Christian Youth and Fellowship Center. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $12 at door.
Entertainment for Sunday, June 3, starts off with Richard Nixon and the Storm Troupers at 12:30 p.m. prior to the parade.
Parade registations and line-up will start at 1 p.m. in NetShape's parking lot.
The C'burg All-American Country Hoedown Festival Parade themed, "A Blast From the Past," is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Trophy presentation will begin at 4:45 p.m. Categories are: Antique tractor, antique auto, miscellaneous float, pet, walking unit, cycles/4-wheelers, ball team and horse unit.
Pre-registration is not necessary. All entries are encouraged to decorate in red, white and blue. For more information call, 755-1010.
