(BEDFORD) - Bedford firefighters extinguished a camper blaze at 117 N Street at 2:50 this morning.
BFD Battalion Chief Kenny Teague says the camper, owned by Ben Tuell, was destroyed.
"When we arrived the camper and the shed were on fire," Teague says. "The trailer is a total loss, but the small work shed did not have that much damage. Most of the items inside could be salvaged."
The camper was parked in the side yard next to the shed, Teague says. The house was about 10 to 15 feet from the trailer and was not damaged.
"I was surprised, siding melts quickly, but there was no damage," Teague says.
Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour. BFD Investigator David Wright will be on the scene this morning to determine what started the blaze.
