(BEDFORD) - 55-year-old Jack Covert was arrested after he got into an altercation with residents in the 600 block of Q Street Monday evening.
Police went to the home and the residents say Covert was arguing with them and then the fight became physical. Covert allegedly left .
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says officers stopped Covert a short time later and discovered Covert was driving with a suspended license, that the plate on his vehicle had been stolen in Owen County and that Covert had been drinking.
Police found several open and empty beer cans in the vehicle. Covert was taken to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for a blood draw and it was determined Covert was over the legal limit.
He was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, possession of stolen property and driving while driver's license suspended.
