(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police officers arrested 29-year-old Jeffrey Scott Eicle, Saturday night after he was in a verbal argument with a woman at the Walgreens Drug Store and then ran from the scene.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the parking lot of the store at 7:07 p.m. there they found Eicle walking toward the store and when he saw police he took off running.
Police apprehended Eicle at 12th and M streets.
"He became combative with officer and had to be physically restrained," Parsley says. "They had to forcibly put him in the police car."
He was taken to the Bedford Police Department and again became combative and again had to be forcibly put in the police car to be taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
There Eicle continued to fight with officers and jail officials. Jail officials had to call Lawrence County officers to the jail for assistance.
Eicle was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
