(BEDFORD) - 55-year-old Kurt Beard was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in bodily injury Monday night after a wreck on R Street.
According to a Bedford Police report, Beard was traveling north on R street in a 2006 Suzuki and approaching 10th Street when he failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a 2001 Chevrolet truck driven by 19-year-old Tyson Banks, of Williams.
Banks was traveling west on 10th Street and had stopped at the stop sign and was turning left onto R Street.
Witnesses at the scene told police Beard had crossed the center line several times before the crash. Police say Beard's vehicle was straddling the center line at the time of the accident.
Banks, complained of head pain and his passenger 17-year-old Zachery Mills, of Bedford, complained of shoulder and arm pain. Beard suffered bruises to his elbow and lower arm.
Beard failed a breathalyzer test and was arrested.
