(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says detectives continuing to investigate the stabbing of 46-year-old Michael R. Holt, of 400 15th Street, who died instantly from one stab wound to the chest.
"Right now we are not releasing the name of the other man involved," Parsley says. "I meet with detectives this morning and we are continuing to review statements and the physical evidence and details and circumstances of the incident."
The man, who is not being named, also suffered injuries and was taken to IU Health Bedford Hospital where he was treated and released.
Parsley says the two men were in an altercation at Rusty's West End Steak & Lounge early Friday morning when Holt was stabbed and died. Police responded to the scene at 4:58 a.m.
Lawrence County Coroner John Sherrill says the incident happened on the west side of the bar entrance
"There is still a lot of information to process and the investigation continues," Parsley said late Friday. "We want to make sure everything is gone through thoroughly before we release any information."
